Hiya anyone and everyone! So, I had my 22nd birthday on the 10th January. Freaky, freaky, freaky. Cannot fathom the fact that I’m 22, it’s ridiculous, honestly. I don’t feel a day older than eighteen. Does that ever change?! I can’t imagine being fifty and feeling eighteen… sounds kinda weird. You’re as young as you feel though, right?
So anyways, I thought it’d be fun to share a few of the gifts I received with you! If you have any questions about where they’re from and what not – let me know in the comments section below! That rhymes, ha. Yep. 22 years old. See what I mean? How?
DISCLAIMER: I hate that I feel it’s necessary to do this. I just want to say that in no way am I bragging or anything like that. I just thought it would be fun to share what I got. I’m obviously going to love my gifts and reiterate that and explain why! No hate puhleez. Also, there’s probs gonna be a lot of ‘OMG I LOVE IT OOOO FABULOUS AMAZING FAVE THING EVER!’ type comments and well that’s just me. I’m annoying, I know. Soz. ON WITH THE HAUL!
Fiorelli bag: I’m in luuuuuurrrvvve with this bag! Kind of irrelevant but relevant fact: one of my fave films is Breakfast at Tiffany’s (thank you Blair Waldorf!) and this bag makes me feel that little bit more like Holly Golightly. It’s such an amazing size and there’s so many compartments inside with beauuuutiful interiors! Now to get a purse to match! Any excuse to buy pretty new things. Fave. Fave. Fave.
GHD: For starters, let me say that my poor photography skills do these baddies no justice what so ever. They’re so glittery and sparkly. When I first set my eyes on them I literally had that ‘oooooh, ahhhhh’ feeling/reaction that you see in the cartoons when they see something cool or shiny. I am o b s e s s e d with these babies! Basically, the last time I had actual brand new straighteners, I was 14 – I’m now newly 22. Somehow I just kept ending up with old ones. Not like, random old ones I found on the street or anything but like old ones handed down from my friends and family. I never had a need to buy a new one! I thought the ‘hand-me-downs’ always straightened my hair perfectly fine and could never understand why they were gotten rid of in the first place. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it – right?! Well, kinda. Except my friend straightened my hair with her GHDs (a brand I hadn’t tried before) a couple times and the results were fab! Plus, these ones are rose gold and glitzy. Need I say more? Sold!
Morphe Palette: Erm, so excuse the random pink pubey looking hair on the palette in the picture – not mine I assure you! You have no idea how much I have waited for this and for how long. It was sold out in the UK e v e r y w h e r e for months! I finally received a notification from one of the many UK beauty suppliers that stock Morphe that I signed up to for this reason alone and jumped straight on it. A gift from me, to me! The best kind. In stock on my birthday and I SO hope that’s symbolic for the year to come. I already have the matte twin to this palette. I just needed to get the shimmers! I now have a total of three Morphe palettes – review and swatches soon! I’m in love.
ProActiv Deep Facial Cleansing/Exfoliating Brush: Story time: I’ve been having trouble with exfoliating lately. I’ve always, always used exfoliating gloves which have always worked perfectly. Until one day they just didn’t and I have no idea why, it’s the weirdest thing. I just kept feeling rough-ish afterwards around my nose and chin area. So, I started looking at these brushes. I changed my mind like a million times on them because I’ve heard a pretty wide range of conflicted opinions on them. On the one hand, people say they’re amazing and changed their lives and on the other hand – not so much. People have actually said it makes their skin worse and to steer clear! Yikes. My opinion? So far, so
good great! I love it. Admittedly, it’s a bit of a shock to the skin at first but my skin feels amaaazing. I’ll keep you updated if anything changes!
Gilmore Girls Coasters: My room is recently decorated, new errythang! So it was only fitting that I had new coasters for my new desk! I love Gilmore Girls too, obv. So it’s a win-win situation. Props to ma boyf for finding these bad boys! I needed a lil’ Stars Hollow in my everyday life.
Earrings: I lose my earrings like I lose my bobby pins – a lot. No idea how, now idea where, no idea why. Well, if I knew all that, they wouldn’t be lost! Thankfully, it’s usually the lil’ cutesy Topshop/NewLook/Primark earrings I lose. So I told my fam to just buy me some earrings if they’re ever stuck on gift ideas! These earrings are a lil’ different to my usual though! I don’t think I’ve ever worn dangle/drop earrings. I just didn’t think they’d suit me and I wasn’t really a fan. Opinions change though, ya know? Love love love. The colours are so pretty, my fave colour being green and the amber ones match my eyes if I do say so myself. Happy days!
Necklace: The necklace is actually a pendant my mum found and bought to match the earrings. The chain itself belonged to my Nan before she passed away, then my mum and now me. It’s probably the nicest silver chain I’ve ever seen. I really like dainty things so this chain is perfect. Knowing it’s been passed down just makes it that extra bit special.
P.S. Really showing my rookie blogger skills here. Using a notebook to showcase my necklace and earrings, really, Emma? Yup.
So there we have it peeps! Just a lil’ haul with some of my fave/biggest birthday bits and pieces. As I said above, I’ll do a review on the Morphe palettes and update you on my use of the facial brush! Stay tuned!
Emma, forever the rookie in all things blogverse xo
